Which Humidifier is Right for Me?

When Alex Walter, Furnaces, A/C & More goes to your home to install a humidifier he takes several different models of humidifiers with him. He then, after inspecting your heating & cooling system, suggests the best make, type and model humidifier for your specific application.

How much does a Humidifier Cost?

The cost of a whole house humidifier ranges from about $250.00 for an uninstalled model you install yourself to $2,500.00 or more for the best steam humidifiers. The two types of humidifiers we typically install are
evaporative panel or steam type.

Are Humidifiers Reliable?

To get the performance you should get and expect from any humidifier it must be properly installed and maintained. Alex Walter, Furnaces, A/C & More is a certified installer and maintainer of humidifiers and high efficiency air cleaners. Alex not only installs and maintains humidifiers correctly, with his special tools; he also spends much of his time correcting improper installations. If you suspect an existing humidifier is not operating correctly call Alex.

Things that determine the best humidifier type and model for your home:

The amount of humidity you want to maintain in your home. It takes many gallons of water every day to keep the relative humidity up to a comfortable level.
The type(s) of windows in your home, e.g. single, double, metal frame, vinyl frame, wood frame.
The type and heating capacity of the heating system you have in your home, e.g. steam, forced warm/cool air, solar etc.
Your duct system configuration.
Whether you have a high efficiency air cleaner or not.
The number and location of furnaces in your home.
How leaky is your house, i.e. how much infiltration? Is there a vapor barrier?
Whether or not you have a floor drain near the proposed humidifier location.
